(CNN)EgyptAir Flight 804 from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar over the Mediterranean Sea with 66 people on board early Thursday. Here's what we know so far:
• Greek controllers tried to reach the Airbus A320 when it crossed through Greek airspace but got no response.
• When the plane reached Cairo airspace, it swerved sharply then plunged from 37,000 feet into the Mediterranean, Greece says.
• A distress signal was detected in the vicinity where the flight disappeared from radar 2 hours later, but it could have come from another vessel.
• The cause behind the disappearance is more likely terrorism than a technical issue, Egypt's civil aviation minister says.

CORRECTION: FLOATING OBJECTS FOUND SOUTHEAST OF CRETE
Egypt has found floating objects 210 nautical miles southEAST of Crete, not southwest. There is still no confirmation that they're part of the missing plane.
For reference once again -- here's our latest map on the last known location of the plane.

SECURITY AT CHARLES DE GAULLE
As search teams scour the Mediterranean for Flight 804, CNN's Jim Bittermann in Paris says attention is also focused on security at Charles de Gaulle Airport, where more than 50 workers had their security clearances lifted in 2015 over concerns about their contacts.
In this photo, a relative of one of the passengers is comforted at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

TOUR OPERATOR SHARES PLUMMET
Egypt says terrorism is more likely to be responsible for the disappearance of Flight 804 than a technical fault -- and just as the plane went missing, shares in tour operator Thomas Cook fell 19% in London after the company said security fears were hitting its business.
Thomas Cook says demand for holidays in Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt is way down on 2015. All three countries were hit by by terror attacks in the past year.

DEBRIS SPOTTED?
Greek officials say the Egyptian military has spotted two floating objects 210 nautical miles southwest of Crete -- BUT they cannot be sure these objects are part of the missing aircraft.
Here's what we know about the last known location of the plane, according to radar.

EGYPT: TERROR MORE LIKELY THAN TECHNICAL ISSUE
The cause behind the disappearance of EgyptAir 804 is more likely to be terrorism that a technical issue, Egypt’s Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi said in Cairo.
Regardless of cause, the fact the plane is still missing has devastated families in Cairo.

EXPERT: WE NEED BETTER TECHNOLOGY
Aviation expert Miles O’Brien tells CNN that better technology would help deal with aviation disasters and suggests that finance is the issue. “Why don’t we have real time telemetry? It’s about money,” he said.
Here's what we know at the moment about the plane itself.

FAMILIES FACE AGONIZING WAIT
Families of the 66 people on board Flight 804 are gathering at airports in Cairo and Paris -- see our full report below.
QUEST: DEBRIS WITHIN 12-18 HOURS?
CNN’s aviation expert Richard Quest says he'd "expect debris to be seen within the next 12-18 hours. It might take another 2-3 days to locate the rest of the wreckage. The unusual feature of this incident is that it took place at altitude and at the point of transfer – and then an unresponsive cockpit.”
Here's a graphic showing how many flight hours the pilots had.

EGYPT ON 'FIREBALL' REPORTS: LET'S BE RATIONAL
Egyptian Aviation Minister Sharif Fathi addressed unconfirmed reports of a fireball being seen in the sky. "We can’t deny this but we have seen no facts," he said. "I’m trying to abide by the facts. Let’s be rational.”
Tensions ran high during the Cairo press conference as Fathi faced pressing questions from reporters about whether the plane had crashed.
"I'm not going to use the terminology of crash," he said. "There is a probability that it's been crashed, but at the same time I choose the words ... people are saying two different things. And it's hard to cope with both without real facts."
But analyst Miles O'Brien -- who earlier said "terror activity" was likely -- doesn't have a lot of confidence in Egyptian investigators.
